About Us

We have assembled one of the most unique teams in the nation to address one of our nation’s greatest unsolved challenges: training for high-risk environments. At SiTEL, a unique, cross-disciplinary team of clinicians, including nurses and physicians, work together with computer scientists, game designers, human factors engineers, instructional designers, researchers and educators. Together, we create innovative training and education solutions, which are built from Web 2.0 technologies, multimedia, simulation and game technologies.

We are part of MedStar Health, a $3.8 billion, not-for-profit organization. As the largest health system in the greater Baltimore-Washington, D.C. corridor, the MedStar Health network includes nine hospitals and 20 other health-related businesses. It is one of the region’s largest employers, with more than 29,000 associates and 5,300 affiliated physicians.

We manage four clinical simulation centers for MedStar Health, with locations including Washington Hospital Center, Georgetown University Hospital, Vivian T. Thomas High School for Medical Arts, and Harbor Hospital. At Harbor Hospital, our clinical simulation center serves the needs of Union Memorial Hospital, Franklin Square Hospital Center and Good Samaritan Hospital, all located in the Baltimore area. Since their inception, over 16,000 training participants have benefited from real-world training on leading-edge medical simulators in these authentic environments.
All of our solutions are hosted on an intelligent learning management system that tracks learner performance and offers analytical tools to training managers. Over 700 institutions and 75,000 users, including physicians; residents; medical students; emergency medical technicians, and police and fire rescue personnel, use our online training courses. Our online learning team supports every relationship and is comprised of account managers, instructional designers and help desk support.
We shape the future of training in SiTEL’s Idea Lab. Idea Lab blends and refines concepts from simulation and online training, and pairs software development with instructional methodologies to produce future services and solutions. Eventually, each of these services or solutions is offered through SiTEL’s Online or Simulation Training.
